The
Clinic
Caroline is no longer operating from the Mount Lawley Clinic, and now practices from Koondoola, near Malaga.
Consultation
times with Caroline are around half an hour and are the same for new and for continuing
patients. The longer appointment time allows an indepth treatment, thus aiding
recovery, and reducing the need for repeated sessions per week.

Caroline's
charges are:
$80.00
per consultation
The
charge is the same for initial and subsequent consultations, no concessionary rates. | Note
For
all of the types of problems and symptoms, careful consideration is given to any
medical condition. Caroline is happy to discuss whether your problem may be able
to be helped by osteopathy, and to discuss what the possible benefits may be and
how long treatment may take. X-rays are not routinely required prior to treatment.
If you already have xrays or scans, please bring them with you on your first appointment.
Where symptoms need further investigation, patients may be referred prior to treatment.

What
to expect when you visit the practice:
"The
Osteopath will take a full case history including what your problem is, what your
general medical history is, what medication you are on, details of your general
health and family history, and how your current problem came about or developed.
Then, the osteopath will ask you to undress to your underwear, so that your spine
and body can be examined fully. Even if you have a pain just in the neck for example,
the Osteopath will need to examine the rest of your spine and pelvis as the origin
of the problem can often be quite a distance from the site of pain. The Osteopath
will ask you to do some simple movements like bending forwards, and sideways,
and then may take reflexes, or listen to your chest or take your blood pressure
for example, depending on what the problem is. They will then examine you whilst
you are sitting and or lying down on the couch, to determine what is the nature
of your problem, what contributing factors might be present in your spine and
body, and to determine how best to help you. If treatment is decided upon, the
osteopath will commence this on the first visit, and discuss with you how many
sessions you might need, or what is your best course of action. Please feel free
to ask as many questions as you like during either the examination or treatment."
For many problems that Caroline sees the pains and symptoms are in sensitive areas such as the pelvic floor, perineum, groin, chest and anterior breast, coccyx and bottom area. Please wear loose fitting underwear if you have a problem in these areas (such as bladder weakenss, episiotomy scars, birth injuries, pelvic prolapse, mastitis type problems, prostadynia and so on), as this makes examination easer. Please feel free to bring a long a chaperone if you would like to, although this is not compulsory.
